West Didsbury is one of the busier Manchester centres, and the routes reflect that. Expect heavy residential traffic around Barlow Moor Road and Palatine Road, with parked cars narrowing the carriageway on both sides for long stretches.
The routes make regular use of the Princess Parkway junctions, which means judging gaps on a fast dual carriageway under time pressure. Learners who have only practised on quiet roads tend to struggle here.
Parking around the centre is limited. Arrive early rather than circling, and use the time to settle rather than cram.
Common faults here are lane discipline on approach to the multi-lane roundabouts, and hesitancy at the busier junctions where a gap has to be taken decisively.
